Hayes Family Wines Barossa Valley Rose 2023
DESCRIPTION
Rose, albeit made from red skin grapes in our case Grenache and Mataro, runs its own path in the winery. Pick, Crush, Press all done within a short time period (a few hours) to minimise skin contact, extraction and to keep the colour salmon pink.
Fermentation continues at a leisurely pace in a chilled tank to retain the fruit flavours. We typically bottle in May or June depending on the year.
The 2023 Barossa Valley Rosé was sourced from our great friends, Ryan and
Sally Fromm. Their vineyards are located in Williamstown, at the southern end of the Barossa Valley. This vineyard has been farmed by the Fromm’s for over 100 years. A blend of old vine Grenache and Mataro from the wonderful 2024 Vintage. This wine is our take on a refreshing, dry, traditionally pale rosé.
Very light salmon pink in colour. Lifted strawberry, summer fruits and flowers dominate the nose with a dry moreish finish. Drinking beautifully on release, this wine is best consumed over the coming months with family and friends.
